Bloom Psychiatry is a new and growing clinic located in downtown Calgary. We offer trauma-informed, evidence-based psychiatric services to adults. We work with patients across Alberta, with both public and private care options.


Medico-Legal & Disability Assessments (Privately Paid)
We provide comprehensive, independent psychiatric assessments that deliver clear, evidence-based opinions for:

Personal injury and motor vehicle accident (MVA) claims

Long-term disability assessments and appeals

Fitness for work evaluations

Legal proceedings and litigation support
Our assessments are thorough, trauma-informed, and designed to meet the specific needs of insurers, legal teams, and employers. These services are privately billed and do not require a physician referral.

Psychiatric Consultation (Covered by Alberta Health)
We offer consultation-based psychiatry for adults experiencing:

ADHD (diagnostic clarification and treatment recommendations)

PTSD and complex trauma

Mood and anxiety disorders

Somatic symptom and functional disorders
Our Psychiatric Treatment Services Include:

Medication review and recommendations

Diagnostic clarification

Brief, goal-directed follow-up where appropriate
Important Requirements

A referral is required from the patient's primary care provider (Family Physician, General Practitioner or Nurse Practitioner)

Patients must have an active primary care provider who will continue to manage ongoing care

Referral Criteria & Limitations
We are currently accepting new referrals but are not a fit for all cases. To ensure appropriate care, we do not accept referrals for:

Acute psychosis or mania
-
Active substance use disorders
-
Patients with ongoing psychiatric care already in place

Patients with a significant history of violence or forensic involvement
